As part of the Nationwide Employers Survey conducted by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, the professional preparedness, practical skills and workplace performance of Bukhara State University graduates are being assessed directly through employer feedback. Within the framework of this initiative, the objectives and priorities of the survey were discussed at BukhSU, while on-site assessments were conducted at a number of organizations employing university graduates.

The primary purpose of the Nationwide Employers Survey is to evaluate the knowledge, skills and professional competencies acquired by graduates during their studies, assess their performance in the workplace, and further align the quality of graduate training with the evolving needs of the labour market.

Today, Bukhara State University graduates are successfully pursuing careers across a broad range of sectors, including public administration, banking and finance, industry, tourism, security, social protection and education. BukhSU alumni are employed by the Bukhara Regional Department of the National Agency for Social Protection, Xalq Bank, Business Development Bank, Agrobank, National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity, the Bukhara Regional Security Department of the National Guard, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, as well as numerous educational institutions across the region.

One of the first organizations included in the on-site assessment was the Bukhara Regional Tourism Department, which currently employs more than 10 Bukhara State University graduates. The assessment examined employers’ evaluations, observations and recommendations regarding the graduates’ professional preparedness, practical skills, suitability for their current positions and overall workplace performance.

A subsequent assessment was conducted at the Bukhara Varnet agro-ecotourism cluster, where 18 BukhSU graduates are currently employed. Employer feedback was analyzed with particular attention to their professional competencies, ability to use modern technologies, level of practical preparedness and adaptability to production processes.

The assessment also highlighted the results of the research and industry partnership between Bukhara Varnet and Bukhara State University. In particular, beneficial entomophagous insects cultivated at the university’s Agrobioprotection Laboratory are being introduced into greenhouse production at the enterprise, contributing to the cultivation of environmentally safe, high-quality agricultural products. This partnership represents a notable example of the practical effectiveness of integrating education, research and industry.

Direct engagement with employers enables the university not only to identify the strengths of its graduate training system, but also to determine areas where academic programmes can be further enhanced. In this respect, the survey findings will serve as an important analytical resource for updating curricula in line with labour market requirements, strengthening students’ practical training and further developing mechanisms for effective university–employer cooperation.

The findings and recommendations generated through these assessments will contribute to strengthening the alignment between educational content, graduates’ professional competencies and the evolving demands of the modern labour market.

Bukhara State University continues to strengthen systematic cooperation with employers, align its educational provision more closely with the needs of the real economy, and prepare highly qualified, competent and competitive graduates equipped to succeed in today’s dynamic labour market.
