Bukhara State University and Abu Rayhan Beruni Urgench State University have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at further strengthening academic and research ties between the two higher education institutions.

Rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov, accompanied by Hero of Uzbekistan and Academician Muhammadjon Akhmedov, paid an official visit to Urgench State University, where they were welcomed by Rector Feruza Madrakhimova.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further strengthen the existing partnership between the two universities, expand the exchange of expertise in education and research, and identify new and promising areas for future cooperation.

As a tangible outcome of the negotiations, Bukhara State University and Urgench State University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a framework for broader and more systematic institutional collaboration.

The memorandum encompasses a wide range of areas, including exchanges of faculty members, researchers, doctoral candidates and students; the development of academic mobility; the implementation of joint research and innovation projects; cooperation within international grant programmes and research initiatives; and the joint preparation of academic and methodological publications.

The two universities also agreed to place particular emphasis on sharing expertise in artificial intelligence, digital education technologies and digital transformation, while actively engaging young researchers and talented students in scientific and innovation-driven activities.

Commenting on the significance of the partnership, Rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov emphasized that bringing together the academic and research capacities of the two universities would create new opportunities for cutting-edge research, innovative initiatives and the professional development of young scholars.

The newly signed memorandum is expected to advance cooperation between Bukhara State University and Urgench State University to a new level, strengthen the integration of education and research, and facilitate the effective use of the scientific and intellectual potential of both institutions.
