Bukhara State University hosted a scientific and practical forum entitled “The Transformation of Higher Education and Science in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Central Asian Experience and the Prospects of Bukhara State University,” featuring Vladimir Norov, Chairman of the Central Asian Artificial Intelligence Association and a distinguished statesman and public figure. The event brought together the Rector of the university, Professor Obidjon Khamidov, members of the university administration, faculty, and young researchers.
The discussions focused on key issues related to the digital transformation of higher education, the large-scale integration of artificial intelligence technologies into scientific research, and the expansion of international academic cooperation through the exchange of best practices.
A major outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Bukhara State University and the Central Asian Artificial Intelligence Association. The agreement establishes a solid institutional framework for implementing innovative projects and further advancing the university's digital learning ecosystem.
As part of the event, Rector Obidjon Khamidov recognized Vladimir Norov's outstanding contribution to international cooperation and scientific development by conferring upon him the honorary title of Honorary Professor of Bukhara State University and presenting the commemorative "BukhSU 95th Anniversary" badge.
Addressing the audience, Rector Obidjon Khamidov emphasized:
“In today's rapidly evolving global landscape, artificial intelligence has become not merely a technological innovation but a key driver of the profound transformation of higher education. Strategic partnerships with internationally respected experts and distinguished alumni such as Vladimir Norov open new horizons for strengthening our university's innovation capacity and integrating our young researchers into the global scientific community.”
During the meeting, Bukhara State University historian Oybek Qilichov presented Vladimir Norov with copies of his scholarly works on the history of diplomacy.
In his keynote address, Vladimir Norov highlighted the future prospects of the digital economy in Central Asia and expressed his high appreciation for Bukhara State University's growing academic and innovation potential.
