The Rector of Bukhara State University, O. Khamidov, is currently on an official visit to Ankara, Türkiye. As part of the visit, meetings are being held with the leadership of leading higher education institutions, government bodies, and international organizations, alongside negotiations on priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the visit, an official meeting was held with Mehmet Naci Bostancı, Rector of Hacı Bayram Veli University. Following the negotiations, a cooperation agreement was signed between Bukhara State University and Hacı Bayram Veli University. The Rector also participated in the prestigious “7th International Travel and Tourism Dynamics Congress,” organized with the involvement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, Hacı Bayram Veli University, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Yunus Emre Institute, and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities. During the plenary session, he delivered a presentation on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, which attracted considerable interest from international participants.
As part of the visit, a meeting was also held with Dr. Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye. The meeting was attended by Ali İhsan Çağlar, advisor to the Deputy Minister and former head of TIKA’s representative office in Uzbekistan. The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in education and science, implementing joint projects, and attracting grant funding.
The meetings resulted in agreements to strengthen mutually beneficial relations, broaden cooperation areas, and support joint initiatives in education, science, and culture.
The visit program also includes planned negotiations with the leadership of prominent institutions such as the Middle East Technical University (METU) and Ankara University, as well as participation in a number of meetings at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ankara.
This official visit represents an important step toward expanding Bukhara State University’s international partnerships, advancing academic and scientific cooperation, and strengthening the university’s global standing.
