Uzbekistan–Belarus Cooperation at a New Stage: Meetings of the Bukhara Higher Education Delegation in Minsk

In order to ensure the implementation of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Republic of Belarus, a delegation led by the Rector of Bukhara State University, Obidjon Khamidov, and the Rector of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute, Bahodir Mamurov, held productive negotiations in Minsk.

As part of the visit, a strategic meeting was held with the leadership of the Belarusian State University, founded in 1921 and consistently ranked among the TOP 400 in the QS World University Rankings. During the dialogue with the team led by Rector Andrei Karol, agreements were reached on launching joint Master's degree programs and conducting fundamental research in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, artificial intelligence, and the humanities. Furthermore, the parties discussed the commercialization of scientific developments, the publication of joint articles in Scopus and Web of Science databases, and prospects for cooperation within the framework of the "U10 – Global Advanced Universities of Uzbekistan" program.

The delegation's next destination was the Belarusian National Technical University. During the negotiations, significant agreements were signed regarding the development of academic mobility in engineering, technology, and the digital economy, as well as strengthening the integration of industry and higher education. This was followed by a visit to the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, the leading agricultural center in Belarus. Following discussions with the Academy's leadership, a cooperation agreement was signed aimed at developing modern agricultural science and training highly qualified specialists. This document serves as a solid legal foundation for the joint implementation of scientific and innovative projects.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the Rector of Bukhara State University, Obidjon Khamidov, presented symbolic commemorative gifts to the foreign partners. It was emphasized that this international mission is not merely a series of meetings, but a strategic step toward elevating the international academic prestige of Bukhara State University. All proposals will be finalized by experts in the short term and implemented through specific "roadmaps." This will provide students with access to world-class education and allow professors and researchers to collaborate with prestigious international scientific centers.
