A prestigious international scientific and theoretical conference titled “Problems of Semiotics and Post-Structuralism,” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, has commenced at Bukhara State University.
The forum is organized in cooperation with the Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, initiated by Doctor of Philology, Professor Gʻayrat Murodov.
At the opening ceremony, the Rector of the university, Obidjon Khamidov, emphasized the strategic importance of advancing science, higher education, and international academic cooperation. The Chairman of the regional branch of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, Shodmon Sulaymonov, also highlighted the conference’s significance for literary studies and national intellectual development.
The plenary session featured keynote presentations by leading scholars:
— Professor Uzoq Jurakulov from the Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature discussed the specifics of literary text analysis;
— Associate Professor Faizulla Toltay (Kazakhstan) presented scientific interpretations of deconstruction methodology;
— International scholars, including Mürsade Meryem Kılıç from Istanbul University and Ulker Yusifova from Baku Slavic University, delivered reports on contemporary trends in semiotics and post-structuralism.
The conference will continue on April 3–4 with sectional discussions focusing on the philosophical and aesthetic foundations of semiotics and post-structuralism.
The forum serves as an important platform for advancing the integration of literary studies, linguistics, and philosophy, as well as strengthening international academic cooperation.
