“Rector in the Dormitory — One Day, One Night” Initiative: Comprehensive Activities Conducted in Student Residence at Bukhara State University

Within the framework of implementing the priority tasks set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, comprehensive activities were carried out at the student residence of Bukhara State University under the initiative “Rector in the Dormitory — One Day, One Night.”

During the visit, the Rector of the university, Obidjon Khamidov, held an open and constructive dialogue with students, thoroughly examining their living conditions, daily needs, and views regarding the educational process.

The following areas were discussed and addressed during the meetings:
— further improvement of living conditions, infrastructure, cleanliness, and comfort in student dormitories;
— enhancement of internet quality, study rooms, and facilities for independent learning;
— broader engagement of students in English language, IT, and artificial intelligence courses, including support for active participation in the “Five Million AI Leaders” program;
— promotion of reading culture through the establishment of “book corners” and strengthening of the intellectual environment;
— meaningful organization of students’ free time through sports (chess, checkers, table tennis, mini-football) and creative clubs;
— organization of “Rector’s Cup” sports competitions and various spiritual and educational initiatives;
— support for talented students and encouragement of their startup initiatives;
— increased focus on psychological support and safety issues.

The Rector also attended English language classes, observed the learning process firsthand, and engaged directly with students.

As part of the five key initiatives, specialized rooms for music, reading, and sports activities were reviewed, and open discussions were held with students.

In addition, a meeting was organized with students who actively participated in international events, including visits of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, where their experiences and impressions were shared.

The activities carried out under this initiative contribute to addressing students’ concerns on-site, enhancing their intellectual and creative potential, and fostering a modern and supportive university environment.
