Abdulla Qodirovich Atoyev (1937–2012) began teaching at the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute in 1960. In 1964, he received the honorary Master of Sports title in national wrestling and, in 1967, an award for excellence in public education in Uzbekistan.

From 1967 to 1969, he undertook postgraduate studies at the P.F. Lesgaft Institute of Physical Education in Leningrad. He also qualified as a republican-category referee in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling.

In 1970, he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation on the effectiveness of national sports elements, traditional games, and special exercises in developing schoolchildren's physical qualities in Uzbekistan. He received a medal for distinguished labor.

He served as Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education from 1971 to 1981. He became an Associate Professor in 1973, an Honored Coach of Uzbekistan in 1974, received a Soviet sports excellence distinction in 1978, became a Professor in 1985, and was awarded the T.N. Qori-Niyoziy Medal in 1987.

From 1970 to 1990, he chaired a methodological council on physical education. From 1991 to 2010, he served on specialized academic councils in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

He supervised 2 Doctors of Sciences, 10 Candidates of Sciences, and more than 50 master's students.

Irek Izzatullayevich Burnashev (1940–2014) graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education at the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute in 1968.

He worked as a lecturer from 1968 to 1973, senior lecturer from 1973 to 1976, department head from 1976 to 1983, deputy dean from 1983 to 1984, dean from 1984 to 1992, head of the Department of National Sports from 1992 to 2000, head of the Department of Physical Education Theory and Wrestling from 2000 to 2006, and Associate Professor from 2006 to 2011.

Under his coaching, Bukhara State University's basketball team won prizes in national championships, the Uzbekistan Cup, the Universiade, and international competitions.

During Uzbekistan's independence, he trained 29 Masters of Sports and more than 40 Candidates for Master of Sports. Eleven of his students represented the Uzbekistan national team, including Arsen Ilyasov.

He received educational excellence awards in 1978 and 1981 and was named an Honored Coach of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1991.
