The department of Russian philology also has its own history at the university.  Training of teachers of Russian language and literature at Bukhara State University (Pedagogical Institute) began in 1935.  In 1945, the Department of Russian Language and Literature was formed at the Faculty of History and Philology.  At that time, the Department of Russian Language and Literature was merged and headed by Associate Professor K.P. Khramstova.  In 1949, the university system changed, and the department was divided into two departments: the Department of Russian Language and the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature.  Particular attention was paid to the quality, methods and material and technical base of the disciplines taught at these departments.
 In 1967, as a result of the reorganization of the departments, the department of Russian language was divided into three:
 1. Russian linguistics.
 2. Methods of teaching Russian language and literature.
 3. Department of interfaculty Russian language.
 Well-known Russian linguists (thank you) have been working at the department for many years. They have made a unique contribution to the development of the department's potential. Professor N.D Rusinov, Professor S.N.Ivanov, Professor O.M.Kim, Professor  S.I.Jovtobryux, A.Gurevich, B.N.Nekrasova, N.N.Rogacheva, A.I.Kuramshina, V.V.Osminskiy, S.S.Slobodinskiy, L.P.Grexova, T.U.Etkin, O.I.Labunko, V.M.Pasek, V.L.Amitin, L.V.Abdullaeva, R.R.Muxamedanov, R.R.Muxamedanov  The work of such scientists as N.B.Bayburina, O.M.Korolkova, T.K.Nasyrov, R.Sh.Maminova, V.A.Kiselyova, Yu.L.Khon played a special role in the prestige of the department in the country.
 A.G.Belanyuk (Ukraine), K.R.Babaev, A.S.Niyazbaev, L.I.Savchenko (Israel), E.V.Shlyonskiy (SSHA), N.A.Jadanova (Russia), N.V.Khayitova, L.I.  Dedicated specialists in their field, such as Egorova, M.R. Saidova, B.Ya. Akhmedov, Z.Sh.Khasanova (retired, Bukhara), have left an indelible mark on the history of the Department of Russian Philology.
 In 1999, due to the reduction of the admission plan and a sharp reduction in teaching hours, the two departments - Russian Linguistics and World Literature (Russian and Foreign Literature) were merged.  The department was merged into the department of Russian philology.
Today the following specialists work in this team: 
Nosirov Otabek Timurovich (head of the department), Djuraeva Zulhumor Radjabovna (candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, honorary professor of the International Academy "Ancient World".  Djuraeva Zulhumor Radjabovna is the author of a new generation of textbooks in Russian language taught in academic lists and professional colleges.  Isaeva Gulnora Abdukadyrovna (senior teacher), Bokareva Marina Alexandrovna (senior teacher), Temirova Djamilya Khasanovna (senior teacher), Gudzina Victoria Anatolevna (teacher), Boltaeva Manzura Sharipovna (teacher), Rozikova Natalya  Nikolaevna (teacher), Tuylieva Lola Abdullaevna (teacher), Nosirov Otabek Timurovich (teacher, member of the Department of Russian Philology since 2012. In 2011-2012 at the Department of Asian Sciences of the Adam Mistkevich University (Poznan, Poland)  TOSSA - Action-2 program (ERASMUS MUNDUS Foundation under the European Commission) under the guidance of Professor Henrik Yankovsky as a researcher.  Conducting research on "Linguocultural analysis of the concept of" seasons "in Uzbek and Russian languages"  Murtazaeva Feruza Rashitovna (teacher) and as an independent researcher of the Department of Russian language under the guidance of Associate Professor Z.J.Pardaeva Artistic originality of modern "women's prose" (on the example of the works of V.  The scientific potential of the department is 29%.  The department has always been at the forefront of the organization of educational, spiritual, educational and research work at a high level, the introduction of new pedagogical technologies in the education system.  The role of teachers who have worked in the department for many years has played an important role in today's achievements of the department.  Over the past period, members of the department have published more than 15 scientific pamphlets, textbooks, published more than 120 scientific articles in international and national scientific journals and collections, 3 international and 4 national.  organized scientific conferences on the scale of
 In recent years, the department held 2 international (2001, 2004) and 5 national scientific conferences dedicated to the works of famous Russian writers L.N.Tolstoy, A.P.Chekhov, M.A.Bulgakov, M.I.Tsvetaeva, M.Yu.  Since 2017, the department is headed by O.T Nosirov.  Interest in Russian language and literature has grown significantly in recent years.  We have seen a significant increase in admission quotas in the last five years.  Due to the need for professors and teachers, a number of talented young people and experienced teachers of schools were involved in the department.  In particular, the activity of Doctor of Philology, Professor F.A Muminov as a professor of the department paves the way for further increase of the department's attention to scientific work.  S.Sharipov, K.Bahramova, N.Shermuhammedova,, M.Boltaeva,, I.Kozieva, S.Avezov, D.Charakulova, etc. were involved in the educational process.
 L.Kh. Nigmatova completed her research for the degree of Doctor of Philology and on December 23 of the current year defended her dissertation.  On September 11, 2021, FR Murtazaeva temporarily defended her dissertation.  K.Ya.
