At Bukhara State University, the results of the student surveys conducted in 2023 were thoroughly analyzed, and a set of comprehensive measures was implemented to address the identified issues and enhance the quality of education. These activities were aimed at strengthening student-centered learning, ensuring transparency in governance, and fostering a sustainable quality assurance culture within the institution.
Following the identification of insufficient student awareness regarding quality assurance mechanisms, the University developed and formally approved its Quality Assurance Policy. The policy was published through official communication channels to ensure accessibility for all stakeholders. In addition, the “You Said – We Did” feedback mechanism was introduced, and regular reports on actions taken in response to student feedback were provided, contributing to improved institutional accountability.
The analysis of survey results revealed that certain study programs did not fully meet student expectations. In response, academic programs were reviewed and revised with active student participation and consideration of labor market and employer feedback. This process enhanced the relevance, coherence, and practical orientation of curricula and learning outcomes.
Concerns related to teaching methods and the transparency of assessment processes were addressed through targeted professional development activities. Faculty members participated in training programs focused on pedagogy and digital teaching methodologies, and assessment criteria were clarified and publicly communicated to students. These measures improved fairness, consistency, and trust in the assessment system.
To respond to students’ expressed need for stronger academic guidance, the academic advising system was strengthened across all stages of study, including admission, progression, and graduation. Academic advisors were assigned to all student groups, and institutional guidelines regulating advising practices were developed and implemented.
In response to feedback regarding high teaching workloads and the central role of faculty in ensuring educational quality, teaching loads were reviewed and balanced. Furthermore, a performance-based incentive and annual evaluation system focused on teaching quality was introduced, contributing to enhanced faculty motivation and professional engagement.
Issues related to distance learning, IT infrastructure, and student accommodation were addressed through a series of improvement measures. The Learning Management System (LMS) was upgraded, IT infrastructure was strengthened, and student dormitory facilities were modernized. These actions significantly improved the learning environment and student living conditions.
Overall Outcomes
All activities outlined in the action plan based on the 2023 student survey were fully implemented. As a result, the University strengthened its internal quality assurance system, institutionalized mechanisms for incorporating student feedback into decision-making, and enhanced transparency across academic processes. Student satisfaction levels increased, the number of complaints decreased, and a strong quality culture was further embedded at Bukhara State University.
