On the occasion of Bukhara State University's inclusion in the list of the world’s top 800 prestigious universities according to the “Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025”, the graduation ceremony “GRADUATE–2025: Diploma Awarding Ceremony” was held

“This year is especially memorable for us as we celebrate the 95th anniversary of Bukhara State University. Over almost a century, this venerable institution has trained thousands of scholars and specialists, making a substantial contribution to science and education. In recent years, the university’s position in international rankings has significantly improved: it is now placed in the 601–800 bracket in the Times Impact ranking, 447th globally in the Greenmetric ranking, and among the top 900 in the QS Asia ranking. This achievement is tangible proof of the dedicated work of our teaching staff and the drive of our students.

Dear graduates! A new life stage begins for you—professional work. You will face many challenges, and in such moments steadfastness, honesty, and patriotism should guide you,” said Botir Zaripov, Governor of the Bukhara region, in his congratulations to the graduates.

“Dear graduates! I sincerely congratulate you on successfully completing your studies and stepping into a new, significant, and beautiful phase—independent life. On behalf of myself and the university community, I wish you a successful path. These diplomas are symbols of our hopes. Best wishes to you, proud graduates—the builders of the New Uzbekistan!said BukhSU's Rector, Professor Obidjon Xamidov, in his ceremonial speech.

 

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests at regional and national levels, university leadership, faculty, students, and their parents.

Within the framework of the event, in the main foyer of the Universal Sports Complex at BukhSU, an exhibition showcasing the university’s history, student achievements, and moments of campus life was organized. Guests were welcomed with national melodies performed by the Faculty of Art History.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Professor H.T. Artikova warmly congratulated the graduates and celebrated the university’s entry into the global Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. The congratulatory message from Governor Botir Zaripov was also read aloud, and the Top‑1000 certificate was ceremonially awarded.

Muhammad Ahmedov and Shodmon Sulaymonov delivered speeches, expressing congratulations to the graduates and the university community on this important occasion. Additionally, the head of the regional Sports Department, U. Nadjimidinov, honored the winners of sports competitions held within the “Dolzarb 90 kun” project and extended his best wishes to the young athletes.

The ceremony saw participation from Deputy Governor of the Bukhara region and Doctor of Biological Sciences Professor H.T. Artikova; “Hero of Uzbekistan” and head of the “Madaniyat Muhammad Ismat” farming enterprise Muhammad Ahmedov; Doctor of Philosophy and regional representative A. Amanovna; Regional Council deputy Sherzod Rakhmonov; Head of the regional Sports Department U. Nadjimidinov; Head of the Bukhara branch of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Shodmon Sulaymonov; BukhSU's Rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor Obidjon Khamidov Khafizovich, along with heads of other higher education institutions, presenting diplomas to the graduates.

 

Due to students’ talent and scholarly pursuits, 2 students received the Presidential Scholarship, 7 received scholarships named after Alisher Navoiy, 1 student each received scholarships named after Babur, Islam Karimov, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Beruni, 3 received the Abdurauf Fitrat Scholarship, and 15 students were awarded rector’s scholarships. Additionally, 3 students won the national stage of the “Heirs of Ulugbek” contest, and over 400 students participated and won prizes in international, national, and regional competitions and Olympiads in fields such as intellect, science, music, art, sport, tourism, and IT.

In the 2024/2025 academic year, Bukhara State University graduated 4,884 bachelors (2,549 full-time across 51 programs and 2,335 part-time across 17 programs) and 215 master’s students across 36 specializations. In total, 5,099 graduates, including 3,524 women and 1,575 men, with 907 on government scholarships and 4,192 on a tuition basis, completed their studies.

This academic year, 52 students graduated with distinction, earning diplomas with honors.

 

The event left an unforgettable impression on all participants, once again demonstrating that Bukhara State University rightfully takes pride in its achievements and the well-qualified specialists it nurtures.
