During an official visit abroad, the Rector of Bukhara State University, O. Khamidov, met with Dr. Sivapalan Kathrivale, Head of the Scientific Research and Strategic Development Department at Tadweer Group, at the company's headquarters in the UAE on February 12.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the agreement signed between Uzbekistan and Tadweer Group on January 14 during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week international summit. The agreement aims to develop projects for generating electricity through waste recycling.
According to Tadweer Group’s project plan, a waste-to-energy plant will be constructed on a 10-hectare site in Bukhara region, with a total investment of $200 million. The facility is expected to process 1,500 tons of waste per day, with construction set to begin in 2025.
Additionally, the project includes a scientific research component, and an initial agreement has been reached to involve researchers from Bukhara State University in this initiative.
