The Uzbek-Chinese educational forum was held in Beijing

On January 22, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China held the Uzbek-Chinese educational forum in Beijing.

Rectors of 37 leading universities in Uzbekistan and 110 higher educational institutions in China took part in it. The forum was also attended by the rector of Bukhara State University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Obidzhon Khamidov and vice-rector for international cooperation of Bukhara State University Abror Juraev.

At the beginning of the forum, a meeting was held between First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation K. Karimov and Deputy Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Cheng Sze, during which the parties discussed the role of the high-level visit in the development of bilateral relations. The parties also discussed prospects for the development of cooperation.

As part of the forum, panel sessions of heads of Uzbek-Chinese universities were held in 4 areas - exact disciplines, engineering, agriculture, ICT, humanities, medicine and pharmaceuticals.

It is noteworthy that the panel session dedicated to the humanities was moderated by the rector of Bukhara State University, Obidzhon Khamidov.

During the event, 70 bilateral documents were signed between educational institutions of the two countries, and agreements were reached between 5 higher educational institutions on the organization of joint educational programs. Based on a joint educational program, more than 300 students will have the opportunity to study at leading Chinese universities. At the same time, agreements were reached on organizing grant programs for more than 100 Uzbek students.

The Beijing Declaration on cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese higher educational institutions was adopted at the forum. The Declaration provides for the creation of an institutional platform between higher educational institutions of both countries, the formation of a model of Chinese-Central Asian educational cooperation, the further development of academic exchange programs, and the implementation of joint scientific and innovative projects.
