Cyclical process of external quality

11.08.2025

1. Accreditation and External Evaluation Process

In order to strengthen the quality of academic programs and overall institutional activities, the university implements external quality assurance on a cyclical basis. This process includes the following components:

  • Accreditation reviews conducted by external expert panels;

  • Preparation and submission of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR);

  • Receipt and consideration of expert reports, recommendations, and accreditation decisions.

2. Implementation of Accreditation Results and Recommendations

The university ensures that recommendations provided during the accreditation process are implemented based on a clear action plan and strategic approach. This process is organized as follows:

  • Responsibility for recommendations: specific individuals or units are assigned responsibility for each recommendation, and clear implementation timelines are defined;

  • Monitoring and control: the implementation of recommendations is regularly monitored, and all changes and improvements are fully reflected in reports;

  • Continuous improvement: accreditation recommendations are integrated into the university’s quality management system and serve to continuously enhance educational quality.

This approach ensures continuous development of quality assurance and academic programs at the university and enables effective implementation of external experts’ recommendations.

3. Cyclical Process and Timeline

At the university, the accreditation process is organized on a cyclical basis, with each cycle typically repeated every five years. This cyclical process includes the following stages:

  • SAR updates: at the beginning of each cycle, Self-Assessment Reports related to academic programs and quality assurance are updated;

  • Internal monitoring results: the latest monitoring and evaluation outcomes are incorporated into the SAR, and program effectiveness is analyzed;

  • External expert evaluation: during the accreditation process, external experts assess the implementation of previous recommendations and evaluate progress, thereby supporting continuous quality improvement.

This cyclical process ensures an effective mechanism for ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of educational quality at the university.

4. Preparation for External Quality Assurance

To ensure thorough preparation for external quality assurance and accreditation processes, the university has established a dedicated internal quality assurance team. This team carries out the following tasks:

  • Preparation process: systematic collection, organization, and documentation of all required evidence, data, and materials for accreditation;

  • Training for specialists and administrators: regular training sessions to familiarize staff and leadership with quality assurance requirements, accreditation procedures, and effective participation in the process;

  • Strengthening the internal quality assurance system: preparing the university’s internal quality control and monitoring mechanisms for external evaluation.

This preparation process contributes to the development of a quality culture within the university and ensures full compliance with accreditation requirements and standards.

5. Stakeholder Involvement in External Quality Assurance

External quality assurance and accreditation processes at the university are based on the principles of openness and transparency. Accordingly, the following stakeholders are actively involved:

  • Students, faculty members, and employers: they are given the opportunity to provide necessary information and express their views during the external evaluation process;

  • Other stakeholders: industry experts, partner organizations, and representatives of the wider community are also engaged as participants in the process;

  • Enhancing transparency: active stakeholder involvement contributes to greater openness of university activities and strengthens quality assurance practices.

This approach ensures the integrity and objectivity of the accreditation process and makes a significant contribution to the development of the university’s quality assurance system.
