An official meeting was held at Bukhara State University under the leadership of Rector Obidjon Khamidov with representatives of New Uzbekistan University. The meeting was attended by Professor Pavel Belov and Associate Professor of the Physics Department Alisher Sanetullayev.
The visit was organized within the framework of an initiative to facilitate visits of foreign professors and international experts working at New Uzbekistan University—established pursuant to the Presidential Resolution of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 23, 2021 (No. PQ–5158)—to higher education institutions across the country.
During the meeting, participants thoroughly discussed the modernization of the higher education system, enhancement of research capacity, and advancement of inter-university cooperation to a new stage.
Particular attention was paid to the following areas:
— expanding scientific collaboration and implementing joint research projects in physics, engineering, materials science, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence;
— improving the university’s strategic development directions in line with the priorities defined by the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy and developing mechanisms to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs);
— studying international experience in obtaining research university status, increasing publications in high-impact journals, establishing scientific schools, and expanding grant funding;
— participating in international grants and research projects, preparing joint grant applications, and strengthening cooperation with foreign research centers;
— enhancing modern university governance systems, analyzing the effectiveness of the New Uzbekistan University management model, and optimizing academic and administrative processes;
— improving the quality of education through the broader integration of digital technologies, development of modern laboratory infrastructure, and strengthening practice-oriented education models.
Special emphasis was placed on integrating young researchers into the international scientific community, commercializing research outcomes, and professionally preparing grant proposals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize joint scientific seminars and masterclasses, establish faculty and doctoral exchange programs, jointly develop international grant projects, and continue exchanging experience in strategic development.
The meeting was regarded as an important step toward strengthening scientific cooperation between higher education institutions, improving governance efficiency, and forming a competitive research university of international standing.
