BIMO–2026 and BICHO–2026 International Olympiads Held at a High Organizational and Academic Level

For the first time in Bukhara, the Bukhara International Mathematics Olympiad (BIMO–2026) and the Bukhara International Chemistry Olympiad (BICHO–2026) were successfully conducted at a high organizational and academic level. A total of 95 teams representing 75 national and international higher education institutions participated in these prestigious competitions.

 

The BICHO–2026 International Chemistry Olympiad brought together 41 teams. The Super Cup winners were Andijan State Technical Institute, Bukhara State University (Uzbekistan), Magtymguly Turkmen State University (Turkmenistan), and RUDN University (Russia). A total of 19 gold, 26 silver, and 40 bronze medals were awarded.

 

The BIMO–2026 International Mathematics Olympiad featured 54 teams. The Super Cup was awarded to the International University for the Humanities and Development (Turkmenistan), RUDN University (Russia), Andijan State University, Tashkent International University of Finance and Technologies (Uzbekistan), and Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia). Participants received 29 gold, 46 silver, and 56 bronze medals.

 

Among the leading institutions demonstrating the highest overall results were Bukhara State University, Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, RUDN University, and Lomonosov Moscow State University.

 

In particular, Bukhara State University achieved the highest cumulative results in mathematics and chemistry, winning 5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal at BIMO–2026, as well as 6 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal at BICHO–2026, thereby being recognized as the leading institution of the competitions.

 

Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute secured 5 gold medals in mathematics.
Magtymguly Turkmen State University earned a total of 4 gold and 1 silver medals across mathematics and chemistry.
RUDN University demonstrated consistent performance in both disciplines, receiving 5 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
Lomonosov Moscow State University was awarded 3 gold and 1 silver medals in mathematics.

 

Students from numerous leading universities of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, China, and Tajikistan also actively participated and were awarded medals.

 

The official award ceremony was held at Bukhara State University. The event was opened by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Abror Jo‘rayev. Participants also received a video congratulatory message from Academician O‘tkir Roziqov, Deputy Director of the V.I. Romanovskiy Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as congratulatory remarks from Sherzod Rasulov, representative of the Center for Higher Education Development Research.

 

During the ceremony, medalists and Super Cup winners in mathematics and chemistry were honored. In total, 30 cups were awarded in mathematics and 20 in chemistry. Judges, mentors, volunteers, and students who contributed to the organization of the Olympiads were also recognized.

 

At BIMO–2026, students of Bukhara State University won 5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal individually. The “BukhSU” team received the Best Teamwork and Strategy Award, while the “Vertex” team was honored with the Outstanding Logical Reasoning Award. More than 500 students from over 10 countries participated in the Olympiad.

 

At BICHO–2026, university students secured 6 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal, along with the Excellence in Chemical Data Interpretation award and the Super Cup in chemistry.

 

These results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the modern educational environment established at Bukhara State University and the institution’s systematic support for talented youth.
