Within the framework of a consistent policy aimed at working with young people and supporting their ideas and initiatives, Bukhara State University hosted another significant event — an open dialogue held as part of the “Coffee Time” project, initiated by the primary organization of the Youth Union.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of Bukhara State University, Professor Obidjon Khamidov, members of the university administration — First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work Akmal Nazarov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Abror Juraev, as well as active and инициативные students.
The meeting took place in an informal and friendly atmosphere at the café of the renowned French Higher School of Tourism and Business Vatel, located in the main building of the university. This setting provided students with an opportunity to freely express their opinions and engage in direct and open dialogue with the university leadership, thereby strengthening mutual trust.
During the discussion, students put forward a number of important initiatives and proposals aimed at further improving university life. In particular, the following issues were highlighted:
further development of eco-patrol volunteer activities;
establishment of dance and doira-playing clubs to ensure meaningful use of students’ free time;
involvement of volunteers in environmental awareness activities in schools and preschool educational institutions;
increasing the proportion of practical training for students majoring in jurisprudence.
Special attention was paid to the activities of environmentally active students, volunteer-led projects, campus cleanliness, and the promotion of environmental culture. Rector Obidjon Khamidov emphasized that the university campus is a tobacco-free zone and stressed the importance of communicating this requirement to all students. He also underlined that transforming the university into a clean, green, and environmentally sustainable space is the primary goal of eco-active students.
As part of achieving these objectives, several proposals were voiced, including promoting the use of electric vehicles, utilizing flowers grown in the university greenhouse for campus landscaping, conducting energy-efficiency monitoring activities, switching off unnecessary lighting in classrooms, organizing the “One Day Without Plastic” campaign, and introducing the “Eco-Guide” project.
The warm and engaging atmosphere of the meeting was further enriched by students’ questions about the rector’s student years and life experience.
The “Coffee Time” meeting was recognized as an important platform that contributes to supporting youth initiatives, strengthening environmental responsibility, and fostering an open, effective, and trust-based dialogue between students and the leadership of Bukhara State University.
