At the “Umid” sports complex in Bukhara, a friendly football match for the “Governor of Bukhara Region’s Cup” was held, marked by high competitive spirit and relentless struggle. The match featured the BukhDU football club of Bukhara State University and the “Qoraqalpoq” team from Peshku district.
The main match ended in a 1:1 draw. In the penalty shootout that followed, BukhDU players prevailed, securing victory. The winners were awarded a cash prize of 50 million soums by the Governor of Bukhara Region.
The match played a key role in developing adult football in the region and identifying talented players. During the sports celebration, the Governor of the region Botir Zaripov, heads of regional organizations, Rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov, the university team, faculty, staff, and students actively supported the university squad.
