Rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov met with young people from Uzbekistan studying at Syracuse University and studied in detail their educational process, scientific research and future plans.

The activities of Mirjahon Turdiyev were also discussed at the meetings. He has extensive practical experience in protecting social justice and human rights for persons with disabilities in Uzbekistan and a number of foreign countries. Mirjahon worked in leadership and consulting positions in the UN, JICA, USAID and other international organizations, and currently serves as the President of the Central Asian and Caucasian Student Union. In 2020, he was awarded the La Fuerza Community Enhancement Award for his contributions to the development of diversity and inclusion at Syracuse University. During the conversation, the rector and Mirjahon Turdiyev discussed proposals for organizing advanced courses in the USA in Bukhara, introducing modern educational technologies to the educational process, and expanding new directions of cooperation.
