Bukhara State University Rector Obidjon Khamidov opened the ceremony with an introductory speech. During his speech, the rector recognized the close relations of the two higher education institutions as a high example of cooperation in the field of higher education between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan.
An important international event took place at Bukhara State University. Professor Anastas Gerdzhikov, a professor of the prestigious Sofia University of the Republic of Bulgaria, the former rector of this university, as well as one of the candidates in the 2021 Bulgarian presidential election, was solemnly awarded the title of honorary professor of Bukhara State University.
Also, during the event, Sofia University vice-rector for educational affairs Prof. Madeleine Danova and the teacher of the Department of English Literature F.M. Khajiyeva spoke and expressed an opinion on further development of cooperation.
