Bukhara State University proudly marked its 95th anniversary with a series of large-scale events. To honor this historic milestone, the university hosted international scientific-practical conferences, exhibitions, meetings, and a range of cultural and educational programs.
The celebrations began with an exhibition in the university’s main hall, where each faculty showcased its achievements, research projects, and practical initiatives. Guests familiarized themselves with the displays and highly praised the university’s academic potential and development.
An international scientific-practical conference titled “The Role of Bukhara in World Civilization: Rich Heritage, Sustainable Development, Bright Future” was also held. The event opened with a live performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan by university students.
In his opening speech, Rector of Bukhara State University, Doctor of Economics and Professor Obidjon Khamidov, stated:
“The 95th anniversary is not only a reflection on our history but also a moment to deeply feel our responsibility for the future and to set new goals. Today we can proudly say that BukhSU, with its past, present achievements, and future plans, continues to contribute to science, education, and progress.”
The Governor of Bukhara region, Botir Zaripov, also attended the event, congratulating the university community and emphasizing its strong academic potential. He expressed confidence that the university would further strengthen its position on the international stage. A video address from the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, was also presented to the participants.
Leaders of foreign and local universities joined the celebrations, including Hamlet Isaxanli, founder of Khazar University; Rector Raziya Isaeva; Rector of the Slovak University of Technology Oliver Moravčík; Rector of Astrakhan State University Igor Alekseyev; Vice-Rector of Don State Technical University Alina Vinitskaya; Vice-Rector of the Tajik Institute of Culture and Arts Farhod Makhsudzoda, among other distinguished guests. They extended their congratulations and presented commemorative gifts to the university leadership.
In recognition of their significant contributions to education and science, scholars, teachers, and public figures were awarded the badge of honor “95th Anniversary of Bukhara State University.” The celebrations concluded with a symbolic moment - the first-ever performance of the university anthem by students, which gave participants a strong sense of pride and inspiration.
