A group of professors from the Department of English Literature and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Bukhara State University (BukhSU) are currently participating in summer professional development courses titled “Testing, Evaluation and Assessment” and “Teaching Teenagers,” organized by the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) in the United Kingdom. These courses have been launched in celebration of the 30th anniversary of NILE, located in Norwich, and are being delivered by distinguished experts such as Thom Kiddle, Director of the Institute; Dave Allan, co-author of numerous English language teaching textbooks; and Emma Heyderman. The sessions not only focus on methods of assessing students’ knowledge and introducing modern approaches to English language teaching but also provide a platform for participants to share experiences with one another.
In addition to Uzbek professors, the courses bring together teachers from Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Japan. BukhSU professors are actively engaging with NILE trainers and international colleagues, exchanging experiences and exploring the latest innovations in the field. The training sessions have been organized in a highly meaningful and enriching manner.
