Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an important selector meeting dedicated to youth issues was held. The meeting outlined urgent tasks aimed at fundamentally improving the youth support system, identifying and addressing their problems, and defining the role of every young person in society.
The President’s words were especially noteworthy:
“Youth are not our future—they are the decisive force behind today’s reforms.”
This principle must now become the main standard for every institution of higher education.
In response, the administration of Bukhara State University has conducted a thorough analysis of the meeting’s content and is actively integrating youth policy into practice. For example:
- Protecting students’ social, economic, and legal interests;
- Creating broad opportunities for education, intellectual growth, sports, and the arts;
Providing the environment for young individuals to realize their potential and take a rightful place in society has been defined as a key priority.
Initiatives such as “Youth—Our Future,” “Youth Register,” “Five Initiatives,” and “One Billion for Youth,” proposed by the President, are now gaining practical traction not only nationwide but also within universities.
Clubs, circles, and social projects initiated by students themselves are now being used to make their free time more meaningful, increase their social engagement, and promote healthy lifestyles.
The critical remarks made by the President at the meeting—particularly, “indifference and social apathy are growing among youth, and problems are not being identified in time”—should serve as a wake-up call for the higher education sector.
As a result, the responsibilities of deans and tutors are being reassessed, the number of university psychologists has been increased, and systems such as the “Trust Box” and “Digital Monitoring” have been introduced to help identify student problems early and provide targeted support.
The opportunities being created for young people today are a means of increasing their confidence in life and inspiring loyal service to the nation. That’s why every youth-related decision at our university now involves the participation of students themselves—strengthening the principle that “youth are not just participants, but initiators.”
Based on the above, the Bukhara State University team considers the ideas and directives presented at the president-led meeting as the strategic foundation of our institutional mission.
We, the Bukhara State University community, fully support the youth policy of our government and are ready to assume responsibility for its implementation.
We firmly believe that this attention and care instill trust and responsibility in our youth. Every young person must strive to be educated, devoted, and actively engaged in the process of renewal in our country.
