At Bukhara State University, the youth festival “A Topical Day at BukhSU,” held under the slogan “Youth of New Uzbekistan, Unite!”, was organized at a high level. The festival was held within the framework of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s “Topical 90 Days” initiative, aimed at organizing youth’s free time meaningfully and encouraging them in science, creativity, sports, and professional skills.
From Cycling Marathon to Pilgrimage
One of the key events of the festival was the traditional “Pilgrimage Cycling Marathon” led by the rector of BukhSU with participation from higher education representatives, faculty members, and students. Participants visited the ancient Chor-Bakr memorial complex and became closely acquainted with the historical-architectural heritage.
Youth Legal Fair: A Blend of Knowledge and Skills
Another highlight of the youth festival was the “Youth Legal Fair,” aimed at raising legal awareness. Around 10 organizations, including the regional justice department and other law enforcement agencies, presented their special technical equipment and tools. Youth had the opportunity to learn more about the operations of the National Guard, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Fire Safety Service.
Employment and Career Orientation — with Practical Steps
As part of the festival, the “Youth Career and Employment” exhibition was organized. Several organizations and employers — including the health sector, preschool and school education departments, and private companies (Aziz Textile LLC, Chase Sun Energy LLC, and others) — introduced available job positions and internship opportunities for the youth.
A Space Where Science and Creativity Merge
As part of the “Open Day” event, the activities of faculties and scientific laboratories were showcased. At the Department of Chemistry and Oil-Gas Technologies, youth were introduced to interesting experiments within the circles “Pharmacology,” “Fun Chemistry,” and “Basics of Oil-Gas Chemistry.” The Department of Biotechnology and Food Technologies presented circles like “Young Fisher” and “Algology and Mycology.”
Culture and Art — A Source of Inspiration for Youth
During the festival, the comedy play “A Journey to Bukhara” premiered, staged based on the work of renowned playwright Laziz Navruzov. The performance was presented by the regional musical drama theater. Additionally, for the youth, national cinema samples such as the historical-artistic film “Islomkhoja” were screened for 90 minutes.
Sport — A Guarantee of a Healthy Lifestyle
Throughout the festival, demonstration competitions in football, kurash, boxing, volleyball, and basketball were held at the university’s sports halls. Students were also introduced to sports clubs organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.
Reading — The Foundation of Spiritual Growth
At the university’s information-resource center, the campaign “Summer Vacation at BukhSU is Spent with Young Readers” was held. Schoolchildren from across the city actively participated in the event on a voluntary basis.
Event with Rector on “Youth Develop Scientifically and Innovatively”
The event was opened by the university rector, Obidjon Khamidov. In his speech, he spoke about the opportunities created for youth at BukhSU — free clubs, opportunities to learn foreign languages, and training in modern disciplines such as artificial intelligence, robotics, IT, and others.
At the End of the Festival — Youth Voices Matter
Participants shared their impressions, stating that the festival left a lasting impact. One young attendee said:
— “I’m actively participating in the event held under the slogan ‘Youth of New Uzbekistan, Unite!’ I’m currently learning more about the art of archery. In the future, I want to study this sport in-depth and achieve great results. The concerts, films, and National Guard performances left a strong impression on us.”
