During the visit, Dr. Khamidov held a high-level meeting with Karine Sebban-Benzazon, CEO of Vatel Group, Paul D’Azémar, Director of the Vatel International Network, and Aline Renard-Wang, International Development Manager at Vatel. The discussions focused on evaluating the prospects for implementing the VATEL educational model in Uzbekistan, particularly in introducing a dual education system tailored to the hotel and restaurant business within BukhSU.
The sides explored the potential for launching joint programs between BukhSU and leading hotels in Bukhara to create a regional hospitality and tourism education cluster. They also discussed designing modern, practical, and industry-responsive curricula for hospitality and tourism based on VATEL’s successful practices.
As part of the visit, Dr. Khamidov delivered a masterclass in English to second-year students of VATEL Business School in Lyon. The session, titled “Opportunities of Enotourism in Uzbekistan,” highlighted the growing prospects of wine tourism in the region, current trends in Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure, and possibilities for student exchange and practical training through the Marco Polo international mobility program.
This visit marks another significant step in expanding BukhSU’s international collaboration efforts and aims to bring globally recognized educational standards to Uzbekistan’s hospitality and tourism education landscape. It also underlines BukhSU’s commitment to offering practice-integrated, globally competitive education for future professionals.
