“Athlete – Defender of the Nation!”: Sport Month starts at BukhSU
On May 5, the opening ceremony of the Sport Month under the slogan “Athlete – Defender of the Nation!” was held across higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At Bukhara State University’s Universal Sports Complex, the event was joined via Zoom platform by the rectors, administrators, faculty members, and students of state and non-state higher education institutions in the region.
The opening ceremony commenced with the National Anthem of Uzbekistan, marking the official launch of the Sport Month. From today, competitions in various sports — including football, basketball, volleyball, kurash (traditional wrestling), table tennis, boxing, and others — will be held as part of this initiative.
The campaign, held under the slogan “Athlete – Defender of the Nation!”, aims to promote physical activity among youth, encourage a healthy lifestyle, increase interest in sports, and foster a spirit of patriotism, willpower, and resilience.
