On February 7, in front of the bust of the great Alisher Navoi at Bukhara State University, a solemn ceremony was held with the participation of the university administration, the chairman of the Bukhara Writers' Union, the head of the Bukhara regional branch of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, the regional governor's advisor on spiritual and educational affairs and compliance with state language legislation, public representatives, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan in Bukhara region, professors, teachers, and students. In honor of the great poet, a floral wreath was placed at the bust, and participants paid deep respects to his memory.
In the main foyer of Bukhara State University, an exhibition dedicated to the birth of the "Sultan of Ghazals," Alisher Navoi, was organized by the university staff.
Additionally, in the university’s grand conference hall, a ceremonial event titled “Alisher Navoi – A Great Statesman and the Crown of Our Spirituality” was held, marking the 584th anniversary of the outstanding poet who laid the foundation of the Turkic language and strengthened its significance.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan.
At the beginning of the ceremony, congratulatory speeches were delivered by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work of Bukhara State University, D.Sh. Yavmutov, the Assistant to the Governor of Bukhara Region, Akbar Rustamov, the Head of the Bukhara Regional Branch of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, Shodmon Sulaimonov, the Head of the Bukhara Regional Branch of the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, Marhabo Davlatovna, and BukhSU professor and Navoi scholar, N. Bekov. They extended their congratulations to the audience on the birth anniversary of the "Sun of the Nation" – Alisher Navoi.
During the event, theatrical performances depicting significant episodes from the life of Alisher Navoi were staged, highlighting his lifelong dedication to the promotion of the Turkic language and the strengthening of Turkic statehood. Excerpts from his prolific literary works were presented. The audience was especially captivated by the musical performances of Navoi's ghazals, which received thunderous applause.
