A delegation from the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation visited Bukhara State University.

On October 15, 2024, a 16-member delegation of the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation visited Bukhara State University. The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Foundation for Agriculture and Regional Development, Mr. Minagawa Yoshitsugu, was accompanied by representatives from Japan Tobacco Inc., Japan Tourism Agency, ITO EN, Ltd., Calbee, Inc., Trust Engineering Partners Co., Ltd, Universal Sports Marketing Co., Ltd., Nippon Travel Agency Co., Ltd. The meeting was organized by representatives of 14 prominent Japanese enterprises, as well as the representative of the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation in Uzbekistan, Mansur Bakhridinov, and Professor of the Uzbekistan University of World Languages, Malik Ibragimova.

 

         During the meeting, the delegation members emphasized the need to prioritize foreign trade, agriculture, healthcare, sports, culture, and education for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Before visiting the university, the delegation members visited the “Bukhara Agrocluster” During their visit to the LLC, they noted the high investment potential of the agricultural sector in the Bukhara region. In addition, the Japanese guests highly appreciated the large number of students studying Japanese in Uzbekistan, noting that these young people have the opportunity to work remotely for Japanese enterprises from Uzbekistan.

 

           The delegation was briefed on the project plan to promote Bukhara as a city hosting prestigious international sports competitions, and on the project plan to establish shrimp farming in the Bukhara region based on modern technologies by Trust Engineering Partners Co., Ltd.

 

            After that, the delegation representatives got acquainted with the activities of Uzbekistan – Japan, and thus the planned visit to Bukhara State University came to an end.
