Workshop on Turkish Islamic thought from Turkestan to Anatolia

Today, at Bukhara State University was held the international seminar "Turkish Islamic Thought from Turkestan to Anatolia" in cooperation with Necmettin Erbakan University, Turkiye, Uzbekistan-Finland Pedagogical Institute and Imam Bukhari International Research Center.  Professors of prestigious universities of Turkey, Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany took part in the seminar.

The seminar continued in 3 sessions, the seminar was opened by the rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov, Professor Birol Mercan of Necmettin Erbakan University and Professor Bilal Kuspinar.

Within the scope of the event, Arnold Yasin Mol, Lecturer at Leiden University, Netherland, presented his presentation titled “Farabi and al-Maturidi and the Functionalist Approach to Religion in Early Medieval Thought”. There were made presentations of Ramon Harvey (Cambridge Muslim College, U.K) titled “Al-Maturidi’s Theological Phenomenology of Human Experience”; Ramazan Altıntaş (Selçuk University, Turkiye) titled “Al-Maturidi’s Understanding of Reason and Revelation”; Mesut Idriz (University of Sharjah, U.A.E) titled “Al-Maturidi and His Influence in the Balkans: A Critical Overview", Nafisa Juraeva (Bukhara State University) titled Topograghic Features of the Places to Visit the City of Bukhara; Zarnigor Djalilova (Bukhara State University) titled Shaykh’s Muhammad Solih Muhammad Yusuf’s Thoughts on Humans Spiritual Development; Gürbüz Deniz (Ankara University, Turkiya) titled “Ibn Sina’s Understanding of God”; Sajjad Rizvi (Exeter University, U.K.) titled “Ibn Sina’ on Human Nature” and others.

"Holding such an event in a city with an ancient history like Bukhara and the largest number of Islamic scholars has grown up here is of great importance not only for the city of Bukhara, but also for scientists from European countries working in this field," said Turkey's Selcuk University researcher Iqboljon Usmanov.
