By order of the Council of Bukhara State University dated March 1, 2018 “On changing the structure of faculties and departments of the university”, on April 4, 2018, the Department of Preschool Education was organized as part of the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education. The Department of Preschool Education was separated from the Department of Primary Education. The head of the department was appointed candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Khasanova G.K. Since October 8, 2021, Ph.D. (PhD) associate professor Kuldoshev Rustambek Avezmurodovich. head of the department.

Scientific activity of the department:
Currently, the department has 4 associate professors, 4 senior lecturers and 16 teachers.
On October 18, 2018, a cooperation agreement was signed with the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education of the South Ural Humanitarian Pedagogical University. Within the framework of the cooperation agreement, mutual cooperation is planned in the field of educational, educational, methodological, scientific activities (attracting foreign professors-teachers to training sessions, joint creation of educational literature, exchange of mutual experience, training seminars, organization of conferences, creation of bachelor's degrees recognized by both sides and master).
In accordance with the agreement on mutual cooperation between the Bukhara State University and the South Ural Humanitarian Pedagogical University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yu.I. group in the direction of preschool education held 10 lectures.
In 2018, the associate professor of the department Jalilov Zarafshon Bakhshulloevich successfully defended his dissertation prepared for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on the topic “Technologies for the use of educational values in higher pedagogical education created by Eastern thinkers in the 9th-12th centuries.”
In 2022, the teacher of the department Nizomova Shohista Shodievna defended her dissertation on the topic “Symbolic interpretations of the images of water and fire in modern poetry” and received a PhD degree in philological sciences.

Independent researcher teacher of the department Kuldoshev Rustambek Avezmurodovich for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (DSc) in the specialty 13.00.02-Theory and Methods of Education and Training (Primary Education) conducts scientific research on the topic “Methodological foundations for creating textbooks for elementary school in Uzbekistan”. Sharipova Makhbuba Bakhshilloevna, for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of folklore 10.00.08 under the scientific guidance of the professor of the Department of Uzbek literature, Doctor of Philology Oraeva Darmon Saidakhmedovna, conducts scientific research on the topic "Artistic embodiment of rituals in the epos Alpomysh". Also, N.N. Khamroeva, under the guidance of Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor G.I. Toirova, specializing in the Uzbek language 10.00.01, conducts research on the scientific work “Fatika in Uzbek speech (on the example of a compliment)”. And also the teacher of the department Niyazova S.D. under the guidance of Ph.D., Associate Professor Khasanova G.K. conducts research on the topic "Pedagogical conditions for the formation of a healthy lifestyle for children of senior preschool age" (specialty: 13.00.02 - Theory and methods of education and training (according to directions). Lecturer of the department Rakhmonova G. Sh., under the guidance of Ph.D. , associate professor Izbullaeva V.G., conducts research on the scientific work "Technologies for the development of spiritual and moral competencies among students" (specialty: 13.00.01 - Theory of pedagogy. History of pedagogical teachings).
Working with gifted students:
The department works with gifted students. Every teacher works with talented students. "Skillful hands" and "Acting art" circles were organized and plans were developed for talented students with the aim of meaningful spending of free time and development of creative abilities, effective teaching of the subject and deep mastery of the basics of science. A creative environment was created for the circle members and talented students.
At the university stage of the "Student of the Year" competition, held in the 2019-2020 academic year, Marzhona Bekova, a 2nd year student in library education, took 2nd place. In the 2020-2021 academic year, Nigina Ikramova, a student of the 14-5MT-18 group, became the owner of the A. Navoi State Scholarship.
