TURA MIRZAYEV (Academician)
He was born in 1936 in Shafirkan district of Bukhara region.
Folklorist, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Laureate of the Beruni State Prize of Uzbekistan, Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Tora Mirzayev is one of the prominent representatives of Uzbek philology, the founder of a fundamental scientific school of large-scale study of folklore, a great folklorist who has solved many theoretical problems of epic studies on a global scale.
More than 600 scientific, methodological, popular scientific works of Tora Mirzayev have been published. Of these, 5 are monographs, 5 are textbooks and manuals, and 45 are books and folklore collections. His books and articles have been published in Russia, Germany, Turkey, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. To date, it has trained 24 candidates of sciences and 7 doctors of sciences.
