Kurbanov Sabir Hayitovich (1949.20.1, Bukhara district) - athlete, world champion in sambo (1975, Minsk), Honored Master of Sports (1976), Honored Sports Master of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1999). Akobir Kurbanov's father and first teacher. Champion of Uzbekistan (1970, 1973), Spartakiad (1975, Tbilisi) and Europe (1974, Madrid) in the weight category of 74 kg in sambo. He also won the championship of Uzbekistan in wrestling in the weight category of 73 kg (1969, 1970) and prestigious competitions. He graduated from the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute (1972), coach and director of the 2nd Children and Youth Sports School in Bukhara district (1973-87). Since 1987, he has been a senior coach at the Dinamo Sports Society of the Bukhara Region Department of Internal Affairs.
