Maxdi Orifovich
(October 27, 1922, Bukhara) - Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan (1982), Doctor of Biological Sciences (1969), Professor (1972). Participated in World War II (1941–45). Graduated from Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute (1948). Assistant, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Zoology (1953-58), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (1958-72), Head of the Department of Zoology and Ecology (since 1972). He conducted research on fisheries.
