Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 936 of November 22, 2017 provided for the establishment of a museum in memory of the victims of repressions in the structure of universities in all regions. Bukhara State University also hosted the opening ceremony of the Museum of Repression Victims in Bukhara State University on May 18, 2018 - International Museum Day. The event was attended by the Director of the Museum of Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.V. Hasanov, representatives of the regional administration, Nuroniy, Mahalla charitable foundations, professors, students and families of the victims.
The museum consists of 3 halls and covers the period from 1865 to the present day. The museum's exhibits include 19th-century artifacts, valuable archival documents, photographs and film documents. There is also an exhibition "Islam Karimov in memory of the people of Bukhara" in the Independence Hall, which was prepared in collaboration with the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
