Cooperation with established centers and international organizations has strengthened cooperation in the field of education and culture.  For example, a small troupe led by Massimo Tuscany at the Italian Language and Culture Center toured all of Central Asia with their performances, and a number of works by Italian writers were translated from Italian into Uzbek for the first time in the country.  Several students who have studied Spanish have contributed to increasing the flow of Spanish tourists to our country.

Since 2010, the university's international relations have reached a new level of quality.  This can be seen, first of all, in the implementation of cooperation and exchange programs aimed at improving the quality of education, professional development of faculty and research capacity.

Extensive work has been carried out within the framework of the European Commission's Tempus program.  To date, the university has implemented 14 of these projects, and the university is one of the leaders in the country in this regard.  In the fourth phase of the program (2007-2013), 9 projects were implemented, and Bukhara State University took the first place among the universities of Uzbekistan.

Currently, 5 Tempus projects are being implemented, which are aimed at improving the quality assurance system in education by improving the professional training of professors, the development of management skills in higher education, the development of students from society and industry.  improvement of curricula, etc.  The amount of technical equipment and textbooks delivered to the university over the past 3 years under these projects is more than 100 thousand euros.  As a result of the projects, "Center for Quality Assurance in Education", "Center for Innovative Research in Tourism", "Training and Research Center for Ecology and Environmental Protection", special classrooms were established, more than 40 professors and teachers  and the participation of researchers in various trainings and courses was organized.

Some progress has also been made on the Erasmus Mundus academic exchange program.  According to the data published by the European Commission in 2014 on this program and the participation of higher education institutions in the program, Bukhara State University with 9 projects ranked 1st in Uzbekistan and 2nd in Central Asia.  ranked 10th and 12th in the world.  Under these projects, academic exchanges of students, masters, researchers and professors with leading universities of the European Union have been established, and more than 50 representatives of Bukhara State University have been awarded scholarships.

The university has also made significant progress in the study and teaching of foreign languages, relying on international cooperation.  Bukhara State University, in cooperation with the British Council, is participating in a project to create exemplary student groups based on the latest English language curricula.  In order to get acquainted with the status of the work carried out and assessed by external experts, Bukhara State University was recognized as one of the leaders among the 18 universities participating in the project.  The university currently teaches about 15 subjects in English.

Special attention is paid to inter-university cooperation.  Bukhara State University has signed cooperation agreements with many higher education and research institutions around the world.  For example, in the framework of the agreement between the Department of Tourism and the Department of Tourism of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, research work is carried out in various areas of tourism.  The department has received electronic copies of more than 100 textbooks in the field of tourism and hospitality, which are used in the educational process.  An Uzbek-German dictionary is being prepared with the support of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan and KNAUF.  The dictionary contains more than 80,000 terms and will be the most important dictionary in the country.  Similar initiatives are being implemented in other departments of the university.

During the years of independence, many foreign students studied at Bukhara State University (currently 35 students are studying), foreign professors taught students (currently there are 3 foreign teachers), many foreign students  delegations visited.  Hundreds of foreign trips of professors, masters, students and researchers have been organized.  University professors and students are actively involved in international events in the country and in the region, such as the traditional "Silk and Spice Festival".

It should be noted that the experience gained in the framework of international cooperation and improved professional skills are being successfully introduced into the educational process.  Numerous textbooks have been prepared by professors and teachers trained in foreign universities, and the use of best practices in teaching and quality assurance in education is constantly being carried out.

At the heart of these results is the support of the university administration for international cooperation and the efforts of professors, researchers and students to promote the name of Bukhara State University at the international level through their achievements.

All this, no doubt, will help Bukhara State University maintain its position as a highly recognized university in the field of international relations.
