Today, as the number of users on online trading platforms such as OLX is increasing, so are the cases of fraud. Fraudsters usually offer low prices, fast delivery, or a “rush sale” they try to deceive people with pretexts. They offer to send you to Telegram or other messenger and send fake payment links. In some cases, they try to get information about your bank or plastic card.
What to pay attention to:
- Very low prices should arouse suspicion.
- Be careful if the seller's profile is new or without comments.
- Do not send the payment in advance, if possible, see the goods and buy in a convenient way.
- Fake “payment by courier service“ don't trust links — they may be designed to steal your card information.
Recommendation: Trade only through the platform itself and never send your personal or bank details to strangers. If in doubt — reject the deal. Be careful, don't be deceived by fraudsters!
